WALK TO EMMAUS The Walk To Emmaus is an international ministry sponsored by The Upper Room. The name "Walk To Emmaus" comes from Luke 24, when the risen Christ joined two people on the road to Emmaus, discussing the Scriptures and the life of faith with them. SERVE MINISTRIESREADING BUDDIES (Formerly TLC) Provide a kind ear by simply listening to a child read, or lovingly reach out to a child as a mentor in a school setting. Volunteer opportunities are available in elementary, middle and high school. We will kick off the school year on September 16th. It is not too late to join in the fun! BLESSINGS FOOD PANTRY Each week the Blessings Food Pantry on our Pompano Beach site provides hundreds of men, women, and children with much needed food and love. During these difficult economic times, more and more people are turning to the pantry for assistance. Donations of food and time are always greatly appreciated as we seek to meet the need. HOSPITAL VISITATION During times of illness, it is especially important to be supported and loved. Pastors are available, and we have a team of lay people trained to make hospital visits. HELPING HANDS If you or someone you know needs assistance with simple home repairs, we have a team of servants ready to help. There is no cost for their services. The team helps those who are unable to perform the tasks for themselves. LOVE-IN-ACTION FEEDING MINISTRY A great way to serve others is through our Love-In-Action Feeding Ministry. Every Thursday afternoon meals are prepared at Christ Church then delivered to Hope Central. TRAVEL-SIZE TOILETRIES NEEDED Christ Church has an ongoing need for new travel-size toiletries to help benefit The Shepherd’s Way families, the Food Pantry, Seafarer’s House, and the adolescents at CDTC. We will be collecting small unused bath and beauty products, and have a particular need for men’s deodorant, toothbrushes and toothpaste. Items can be left in the box outside the Ft.
