Taylor's ClosetTaylor's Closet is a clothing outreach for teenage girls in foster care, housed at the Christ Church Ministry Center in Pompano Beach. Each month, Taylor's Closet receives thousands of clothes from designers and department stores. Young women from foster homes are invited to go "shopping" at Taylor's Closet. Not only do they receive new, stylish clothes— they also receive prayer and hope.
Clothes that come from overseas are required to have a small defect to prevent payment of import taxes. Minor repairs are necessary in order for these clothes to be wearable. And that is where the Taylor's Stitchers come to the rescue! Taylor's Stitchers are volunteers who machine and hand stitch repairs on these damaged items. They meet one Saturday a month at our Pompano Beach site, as well as take clothing home to mend at their leisure.
